Maintenance Tech

Department: Major Maintenance
Location: Pacific Beach, WA

Summary Description:

Major Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing large-scale maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, to guarantee the continuous and efficient operation of all properties. Our Major Maintenance staff takes pride in keeping guest homes in excellent repair, providing friendly and professional interactions with both guests and homeowners. With keen attention to detail, they ensure that all guest homes are meticulously prepared for arrivals, amenities are well-maintained, and fresh supplies are always readily available for our guests.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Ensuring all homes are maintained and inspected to standard.

  • Available to respond to guest/homeowner requests or concerns.

  • Perform large-scale repairs, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical tasks.

  • Diagnose issues and identify effective solutions for complex maintenance tasks, including exterior, interior, and foundational concerns.

  • Regularly inspect properties for wear, tear, and any developing maintenance needs, ensuring minor issues are addressed before major concerns appear.

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and washers/dryers to ensure reliable functionality for guests and homeowners.

  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, such as inspections, repairs, and replacements, by utilizing the ticketing system effectively.

  • Responsible for pool and hot tub maintenance to ensure cleanliness and functionality.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving minor Wi-Fi issues in homes to ensure connectivity for guest

  • Clean and remove trash as needed around town and homes.

  • Bundling and distributing firewood to homes and surrounding areas.

  • Ensure supply carts/trucks are cleaned, stocked, and maintained daily.

  • Responsible for proactively and timely communicating information to the department and out to the rest of the organization.

  • Install appliances, lights, and equipment in homes and public areas around Seabrook.

  • Comply with all policies and procedures; escalate questions and concerns, including safety hazards.

  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices. Proactively identify and properly address safety issues.

  • Assisting the events team with moving, loading, and unloading equipment as needed for both private and public events.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to act with a sense of urgency.

  • Capable of working independently while maintaining a high level of performance.

  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and efficient decision-making.

  • Proficiency in various maintenance trades (i.e., electrical, plumbing) and appliance repair is a plus.

  • Proficiency in handling a variety of tools and equipment, from hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers) to power tools (drills, saws).

  • Excellent customer service, strong verbal communication skills, and follow-through abilities.

  • Flexibility and patience in a constantly evolving environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or relevant experience.

  • 1-3 years experience in hospitality, property maintenance, or like experience with a demonstrated ability to perform the essential job functions preferred.

  • Forklift and Aerial Lift Certification is a plus.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

  • Occasional on-call availability is required to support overnight operations.

  • All candidates must pass a background check prior to employment.

Physical Requirements (including but not limited to):

  • Able to visually identify, observe, and assess distance, color, and depth.

  • Required to regularly communicate with others and exchange accurate information.

  • Able to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.

  • Frequently move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds.

  • Ability to work within varying temperatures indoors to outdoors, moving between buildings and working around moving equipment/machines.

  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders or stairs, stoop/bend, push/pull, and occasionally work overhead and at heights up to and sometimes exceeding 40 feet.

  • Occasional exposure to moving objects, dust, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electric shock, vibration, chemicals, and noise.

Employment Status: Full time

Hourly Rate: $19 per hour
