Banquet Lead Cook

Department: Private Events
Location: Pacific Beach, WA

Job Summary:

Seabrook Hospitality is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Banquet Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a leader in the hospitality industry, we take pride in creating memorable moments for our guests through our commitment to quality and innovation. The Lead Banquet Cook will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our banquet events by overseeing the preparation, presentation, and quality of our banquet dishes. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary excellence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Collaborate with the Events team to plan and develop creative and diverse banquet menus.

Ensure that menus align with client preferences, dietary restrictions, and event themes.

Supervise and participate in the preparation and cooking of banquet dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.

Monitor food presentation and ensure that all dishes meet the highest standards of taste and visual appeal.

Lead and motivate the banquet kitchen team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.

Provide guidance, training, and support to kitchen staff to maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity.

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain the highest standards of food quality.

Oversee kitchen operations during banquet events, ensuring smooth coordination between various kitchen stations.

Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain a well-organized and clean kitchen environment.

Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the kitchen.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work and educational experience.

Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.

Proven experience as a Banquet Cook or similar role in a high-volume culinary environment.

WA Food Workers Card required.

All candidates must pass a background check prior to employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to stand for entire shift.

Hourly Rate: $23.00 per hour + tip share
